Giannutri Island
This is
the southern most
island of the Tuscan archipelago and is covered with blooming
Mediterranean bush. You
visit the island just for the day, by catching a ferry from
Porto Santo Stefano. It is here that you can explore an
ancient Roman villa built in 1st century A.D. situated in
Cala Maestra.
Giglio Island
can also
be reached by ferry from Porto Santo Stefano; the coastline is
dotted with numerous enchanting little coves, which can
only be reached by boat. However, for those of you who prefer
sand, there is Giglio Campese with its long sandy beach and
cristal clear waters.

Orbetello
with its rich artistic patrimony, is situated on a
narrow isthmus which has linked the town to the promontory of
Monte Argentario since 1840,and is surrounded by two tidal
lagoons, habitat of a great variety of migratory birds and
numerous species of animals.
Porto Santo Stefano
has
become the resort in the region. Its enchanting port
welcomes boats of every kind, from fishing vessels to luxurious
yachts, whilst the town contains an impressive 16th century
Rocca (Fortress).
Porto Ercole
is
tucked away in a small cove and is well-equipped with a wide
range of tourist facilities and is well-known for its
restaurants,
fish
specialities
and lively night
life.

an ancient fishing village , once known as Talamu and
Telamon by the Etruscans and Romans, is perched on a
particularly striking rocky promontory.
Capalbio
a
medieval town,which
was built on the crest of a hill, dominates the countryside. It
is surrounded by walls built in the 15th century which are still
intact.
Saturnia Hot Springs
one of the more popular spa retreats in Europe. The
waters from these amazing springs are capable of restoring
health, vitality and beauty.
Uccellina Nature Park
spend
a really unique day in the midst of nature, go on plenty
of long walks in really unspoiled countryside, with the chance
to see wild animals in their natural habitat.

Montemerano
, quaint medieval village
with excellent restaurants and artisan shops. The picturesque
little houses and tiny passageways of the old section of town
are colorful, very charming and are often rented or owned by
city-dwellers and used as country getaways.
Pitigliano
the birth of this settlement on Tufa rock is explained by a
local myth that reveals the name of its founders: Pitilio and
Celiano, two roman exiles.
Sovana
was all but unknown until a couple of years ago: now the coaches
and foreign cars are beginning to appear, enticed by a parish
church, Santa Maria, and a cathedral of austere Romanesque
beauty. The surrounding area also has a rich Etruscan
heritage, including extraordinary sunken roads and hundreds
of niche tombs honeycombed into the living rock.
